Tri Delta was founded by women for women, when our Founders bravely created a new organization that would “think more of a woman’s inner character than her outward appearance.” In Tri Delta, you are a unique and valuable part of the whole.
We don’t want you to come here and be like us. We want you to come here and be you.
At Founders’ Day this year, our Chapter President, Noelle Briand, expressed her amazement that while she learned that Tri Delta “is for life,” little did she realize that would be the case. Now, as a member of a third alumnae chapter and mother of a Tri Delta collegiate, she is living that experience.
The Space Coast Tri Delta Alumnae Association is an award-winning chapter. Thanks to the dedication of some long-time members, we have earned national recognition.
Around 65 strong, our members include mid-career women, retirees, and young moms. While many are life-long Floridians, others, representing chapters throughout the country, have come to Brevard for a career, a husband’s career, or retirement. A major life change seems to be a perfect time to reconnect with Tri Delta sisterhood and make new friends with a shared history.
The New Year is perfect for getting involved, so join us for lunch or happy hour. Lunch is on the calendar during months when there is no formal event. Each month, we meet at a different restaurant, and on any given date, anywhere from 4 to 24 women will show up to swap college memories or talk about the here and now. Happy hour is newly evolving.
Space Coast Alumni Chapter activities include all the traditional Tri Delta events: We kick of the year with Fall Back to Tri Delta in September or early October, celebrate Founders’ Day in November, get together for a Pine Party and Cookie Exchange in December and share a festive brunch at Pansy Breakfast in the April or May. In between, we volunteer at the Brevard School Foundation’s Supply Zone for Teachers. Individuals also are engaged in supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Chapter members are always looking for new ways to spend time together and learn something new. Past activities have included flower arranging, cooking classes, mosaics, theater dates, and museum tours. If you enjoy it, then it is more than likely that others will, too. And we urge you to pitch in and plan it! Feel free to make a call or send an email to get the ball rolling.
You are not committed to participating in every event. If you can only join in occasionally, you’re welcome, too. We look forward to getting to know you!
